CAKE:
1 chocolate cake mix
2 oz. red food coloring
Buttermilk
FROSTING:
1 c. butter
1 c. milk
1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
CAKE: Mix cake according to directions except substitute food color and buttermilk for liquid. Bake in 2 round layer pans. Cool. Cut each round in half lengthwise making 4 layers.
FROSTING: Cook flour and milk until very thick; stir constantly; let cool; do while cake is baking. Cream sugar, butter, and vanilla until fluffy. Put flour mixture and butter mixture together and mix with mixer. Ice each layer. (Can double frosting recipe if you want "gobs" of frosting.) Do not frost sides of cake, just between each layer and top of cake.
