AUNT SARAH'S POUND CAKE

1 1/2 c. butter
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 3/4 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk

In a large bowl, cream the butter; add the sugar and mix well. Beat in the eggs and the vanilla. Combine in a separate bowl the flour and baking powder; add alternately with the milk to the batter. Place in a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
