1 box Duncan Hines strawberry cake mix
3 eggs
1/4 c. salad oil
1/4 c. water
1 c. 7 Up
Grease and flour 9 x 13 inch pan. Mix above ingredients together, bake at 30 to 35 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool, invert cake onto cake tray.
TOPPING:
1 box (3 oz.) strawberry Jello
3/4 c. boiling water
3/4 c. cold water
1 tub frozen strawberries (approximately 1 pound)
8 oz. Cool Whip
Dissolve Jello in hot water, then add cold water. Pierce holes on cooled cake. Pour Jello over entire surface of cake. Place strawberries (partially thawed) over surface of cake. As strawberries thaw, syrup will melt into cake. Refrigerate cake. Just before serving, frost top of cake with Cool Whip.
